Help & setup guide

ZeroToClaw for ServiceM8

ZeroToClaw gives you an AI agent that works inside ServiceM8 on your behalf. It answers your customers over phone, SMS and email, books and updates jobs, chases quotes, and keeps your job list current. This guide walks through connecting the add-on, setting your guardrails, where the work shows up, and how to get help.

What the add-on does

Once connected, your ZeroToClaw agent can read and act on your ServiceM8 jobs the same way a staff member clicking around the app could. It takes calls and messages from your customers, turns them into jobs, schedules visits, updates statuses, adds notes, and emails customers, all inside your existing ServiceM8 account.

You stay in control. A new connection is read-only by default, and you choose exactly which actions the agent is allowed to take.

Before you start

  • A ServiceM8 account, signed in as a user who can add add-ons.
  • A ZeroToClaw account. If you do not have one yet, you can create it during setup.

Connect the add-on

Connecting takes a minute and uses ServiceM8's secure sign-in.

  1. 1

Find ZeroToClaw in the ServiceM8 Add-on Store

In ServiceM8, open the Add-on Store, search for ZeroToClaw, and select Add.

  2. 2

    Sign in to ZeroToClaw

You are taken to ZeroToClaw. Sign in with your account, or create one if you are new.

  3. 3

    Approve access

Review the access ZeroToClaw is asking for and approve it. This uses ServiceM8's secure OAuth sign-in, so we never see or store your ServiceM8 password.

  4. 4

    You are connected

You are returned to ZeroToClaw with the connection confirmed. Your agent can now see your jobs, and once you allow it, start doing the work.

Set your guardrails

You decide what the agent is allowed to do in ServiceM8. You manage all of this from your ZeroToClaw account.

  • Read-only by default. A new connection starts read-only. The agent can see your jobs but will not change anything until you allow it.
  • Choose what it can do. Turn on the specific actions you want, such as creating jobs, updating status, or emailing customers. Anything you do not turn on stays off.
  • Add approvals where you want them. You can have the agent check with you before it takes certain actions, so nothing happens outside the policy you set.
  • Connect your customer channels. Point your phone, SMS and email at the agent so it can talk to customers and turn those conversations into ServiceM8 jobs.

Where you see and control it

  • Inside ServiceM8. Everything the agent does shows up in your normal ServiceM8 dashboard and mobile app. New jobs, status changes, notes and bookings appear just as they would if a staff member made them.
  • In ZeroToClaw. Your ZeroToClaw account is where you manage the connection, set your guardrails, and review what the agent has been doing.
  • With your customers. The agent speaks to customers over the channels you connect, over phone, SMS and email, and turns those conversations into jobs.

What the agent does day to day

These are the everyday workflows the agent runs once it is connected and you have set your guardrails.

Answer an enquiry and book the job

A customer calls, texts or emails. The agent answers, qualifies the job, checks whether they are already a customer, opens a new job in ServiceM8 from the right template, and books a staff member into a free slot, with the address, the problem and the customer's number already filled in.

Keep jobs moving

As work progresses, the agent updates the job status, adds notes so nothing gets lost, and sends a job to a queue when it is waiting on something. Your job list stays current without anyone touching the keyboard.

Follow up and chase quotes

The agent reads outstanding jobs, picks up the ones sitting on a quote, and emails the customer a follow-up tied to that job. Quotes that used to go cold get a nudge at the right time.

Look things up

When you or a customer needs an answer, the agent searches your jobs and customers and reads the detail of a specific job or record, so the reply is accurate and based on what is actually in ServiceM8.

  • You can cut the agent's access at any time by removing the add-on in ServiceM8. Access stops immediately.
