Each one is a real action the agent can take on its own, the same things a person clicking around WaniKani could do. Read-only by default; write actions are confirmed against your policy.

  • Create Study Material Create the sole study-material record for a subject, optionally with notes or meaning synonyms. WaniKani provides no delete endpoint, so creation cannot be undone through the API.
  • Get Assignments Retrieve one assignment by ID, or list the connected user's assignments using progress, availability, level, subject, and update filters.
  • Get Level Progressions Retrieve one level-progression record by ID, or list the user's level history with ID and update-time filters.
  • Get Resets Retrieve one account-reset record by ID, or list account level-reset history.
  • Get Reviews Retrieve one completed review by ID, or list completed reviews filtered by review IDs, subject IDs, or update time.
  • Get Review Statistics Retrieve one per-subject review statistic by ID, or list answer totals, streaks, and accuracy using subject and percentage filters.

How we connect it

    Connect your account

    You create a key in WaniKani, a key you create and control, and paste it in once. It lives in a secrets store on your server, not with us.

    Set the guardrails

    Read-only by default. You choose which write actions the agent may take, and anything outside that policy gets confirmed with you first.

    We keep it running

    Health checks on every connection, updates handled for you, and we watch the first week of activity to make sure the work lands.
